I have been teaching 2nd grade at Rice Lake Elementary for 5 years. Prior to that I was a kindergarten teacher for a decade. In my ‘previous life’, I was a tax accountant for a large corporation, before staying home with my kids through much of their early years. I have a business/accounting degree from the University of St. Thomas and a master’s degree in education from St. Kate’s.
I live in Plymouth with my husband, John. We have three children: Andrea, Becky, and Jeff. Andrea, and Becky and her husband Mike live in the metro area. Jeff is currently working in Chicago. His cat, Hobbes, lives with us while he’s away so our nest isn’t quite empty. Becky and Mike are expecting a baby girl in December. We are excitedly looking forward to becoming grandparents and this new stage in life.
In my spare time I enjoy walking, biking, nordic skiing, reading, traveling, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends. I love 2nd graders’ enthusiasm for learning and watching them blossom and grow both academically and socially throughout the year.
